Adults agree it is essential for children to have access to community-based programs and services during the summer. Park and recreation professionals across the country provide both the fun of summer camps and sports leagues but the essentials of summer meal programs and childcare.

One does not need to be a parent to understand the importance of these programs and services. Nearly nine in 10 non-parents view children having access to summertime programs and services like those provided by local park and recreation agencies as important.
