Are you ready to help your community grow? This Park and Recreation Month, we’re teaming up with Merrell to send seven lucky winners to the 2023 NRPA Annual Conference in Dallas this October 10-12. This is an incredible opportunity for you — and in turn, your agency — to acquire the knowledge and connections needed for community growth, not only for your next project but for years to come.

To participate, all you need to do is tell us what you’ve done, or are currently doing, at your park and recreation agency to help your community grow in service of the seven dimensions of well-being.

The seven dimensions are:

1. Cultural (community events and celebrations; visual and performing arts; cultural relevancy and humility)

2. Economic (mentoring and workforce development; jobs; connections to social services and resources)

3. Emotional (social-emotional learning and mindfulness; connections to behavioral health services)

4. Environmental (green space and protected natural habitats; climate change mitigation and resiliency)

5. Intellectual (education and enrichment; lifelong learning and experiences)

6. Physical (safe spaces for physical activity and recreation; healthy food; chronic disease management and health education; healthcare services)

7. Social (inclusive and welcoming spaces; social connections; connection to community)

Seven individual winners will receive:

  • Free registration to the 2023 NRPA Annual Conference
  • $1,000 to cover travel expenses
  • The opportunity to join the other winners in a workshop-style education session, led by NRPA’s Health Team, to share their stories and plans with peers
  • A “Good Things Come from Conference” welcome package from Merrell and NRPA to make the most of your conference experience

This is your chance to share your story and immerse yourself in a three-day event filled with keynote speakers, networking opportunities and educational sessions. You'll come away with fresh ideas and strategies to help you achieve your community's goals, as well as new connections that will help you grow both personally and professionally.

Priority will be given to professionals who have not previously attended the NRPA Annual Conference, but all professionals and past attendees are encouraged to apply!

So, what are you waiting for? Share your work with us today and continue making an impact in your community. Good luck!
