Making Important Investments in Safe Play

86% of U.S. adults want their local government to make investments that ensure children have access to safe and inclusive playgrounds. Investments include:

  • Making safety inspections
  • Performing maintenance
  • Purchasing new or replacing old equipment

Two-thirds of U.S. adults say these investments are very or extremely important. According to the 2023 NRPA Agency Performance Review, 95% of park and recreation agencies list playgrounds as a part of their portfolio.

Each month, through a poll of 1,000 U.S. residents focused on park and recreation issues, NRPA Park Pulse helps tell the park and recreation story. Questions span from the serious to the more lighthearted. The survey was conducted by Wakefield Research.
