Each May, NRPA, the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals, the American Red Cross and the World Waterpark Association partner to host National Water Safety Month — a chance to bring awareness to the need for ongoing public education on safer water practices. As primary providers of swimming and aquatic opportunities, park and recreation agencies can celebrate National Water Safety Month by hosting educational events, sharing water safety tips and participating via social media. Throughout the month, NRPA will post water safety-related messages that can be easily shared on social media, as well as other opportunities for participating in the month. Take this time to share your role in promoting water safety.
