Thanks so much for running two great stories in the June issue! “Young Adults and Trails: A Relationship that Continues to Develop and Grow” provides useful insights into participation trends for trail sports. Better yet, the cover story, “Trailblazers,” was an inspiring read for mountain bike advocates looking to partner with park and recreation professionals — the article’s real-world success stories show that mountain biking can enrich the recreation landscape in a variety of ways.

On a related note, the International Mountain Bicycling Association’s largest event of the summer is coming up and there will be a lot of great presentations, speakers and networking opportunities available for the park and recreation audience. The IMBA World Summit will be held August 20–22 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The gathering brings together mountain bike enthusiasts, trail builders and thought leaders with land managers and government officials from across the U.S. and around the world.

“The Role of Parks in Shaping Successful Cities” is a great step toward future initiatives in order to enhance cities and urban spaces...we need to continue the efforts to have park leaders and planners collaborate in the future to ensure that we don’t miss out on future opportunities...great initiative by NRPA and APA!
