30 Scholarships for Green Stormwater Infrastructure Certificate Program
NRPA is hosting a training for park and recreational professionals to participate in NRPA’s Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) Certificate Program. This virtual training opportunity provides park and recreation professionals the introductory knowledge and tools to promote, oversee, advance and operate GSI in their park systems. Park and recreation professionals who are new to the field and those looking to further their knowledge in green infrastructure will be armed to work collaboratively across departments and partnerships to enhance their community resilience with GSI in parks.
This program is designed for park and recreation professionals, community partners, public works and planners who are seeking to build resilience in their community through Green Stormwater Infrastructure in parks. The online courses have been designed for the working professional in mind and can be completed in small parts, whether you have 10 minutes or an hour.
Applications for the program are open from August 24, 2023, to September 22, 2023.
45 Scholarships for Green Stormwater Infrastructure Training
A cohort of 45 professionals is currently completing a training course hosted by NPRA for a National Green Infrastructure Certification Program (NGICP). The training focuses on green storm water infrastructure construction, inspection and maintenance through a combination of online learning, peer-to-peer knowledge transfer and online classes with national instructors.
Upon completion of the course, individuals will be eligible to sit for a national exam to secure a NGCIP certification.
Certified Green Stormwater Professionals
Since 2019, NRPA has offered virtual NRPA NGICP trainings to park and affiliated professionals. The trainings focus on building successful green stormwater infrastructure in parks, including construction, inspection and maintenance phases. To date, 51 professionals have been trained and certified in 30 states.
