About NRPA's Awards

The National Recreation and Park Association’s awards program consists of the National Gold Medal Award, and the NRPA Awards which include the Innovation Awards, Spotlight Awards, Scholarships and Fellowships, and the Robert W. Crawford Hall of Fame.
Innovation Awards

The NRPA Innovation Awards recognize and honor the latest advancements in the field of parks and recreation. These awards showcase the inspiring park and recreation agencies that have improved and empowered their communities through innovative practices in park design, health and wellness, conservation, and social equity.
Spotlight Awards

Spotlight Awards are presented to individuals to honor their efforts — both professional and personal — in the field of parks and recreation.
Scholarships and Fellowships

Scholarships and fellowships provide recipients with the opportunity to explore the operation of NRPA at our Annual Conference. Each year, four Young Professional Fellowships, two Student Scholarships and two Diversity Scholarships are awarded.
30 Under 30

Parks & Recreation magazine’s 30 Under 30 honors the top young park and recreation professionals who serve as everyday superheroes in their respective communities.
Robert W Crawford Hall of Fame

The Robert W. Crawford Recreation and Park Hall of Fame Awards serve as examples for future leaders in continuing the recreation and park movement into the 21st century.
National Gold Medal Award

The National Gold Medal Award honors communities throughout the United States that demonstrate excellence in long-range planning, resource management and agency recognition.
