The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) is looking for park and recreation agencies to host a Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) certification course. The CPSI certification program is the most comprehensive training program on playground hazard identification and risk management methods offered nationwide.
State Associations are given priority when requesting to host a CPSI course to ensure the maximum number of professionals are reached. All local or regional organizations should contact their state association prior to submitting a request.
In the in-person playground training or the blended learning training, attendees will gain practical knowledge on how to apply the ASTM standards and the CPSC guidelines to playground environments. The three-day in-person CPSI course is hosted in a classroom and includes activities designed to foster an understanding of the material. Attendees will take the exam on the third day. The blended learning CPSI course is comprised of access to the CPSI online learning modules, a 4-hour live zoom session with a CPSI Instructor and registration to complete the CPSI examination at a local testing facility.
Why Host a Course?
- It is the most cost-effective way to train your staff to identify and document safety hazards, establish a risk management plan and much more.
- Opening registration to the public will turn your CPSI course into a revenue generator.
- Hosting is as easy as securing a location and inviting participants.
How to Host
Once a location is found and the course dates are confirmed, submit a course request form. The course host is responsible for answering all questions regarding registration details, cost, location and accommodations.
