NRPA 2017 Fellowship and Scholarship Award Winners Announced

Park and recreation professionals and students recognized for making significant contributions to field 

Ashburn, Va. (July 14, 2017) — The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) is proud to announce the winners of its 2017 Fellowship and Scholarship Program. Awarded annually, NRPA’s Young Professional Fellowship, Diversity Scholarship and Student Scholarship aim to inspire young professionals to participate in and pursue a future leadership role within NRPA — the leading organization for park and recreation professionals nationwide.

The 2017 fellowship and scholarship award winners include:

  • NRPA Young Professional Fellowship
    • Brianne Baglini, Fairfax, Virginia
    • Derek Donlevy, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
    • Nicole Fields, Buffalo, New York
    • Kevin Witte, Mountlake Terrace, Washington

“The future of our organization is dependent on the participation of today’s young professionals and students,” said Barbara Tulipane, CAE, NRPA president and CEO. “That’s why we are proud to offer a fellowship and scholarship program that provides an in-depth view of our organization and its importance.”

The award winners will be recognized at the 2017 NRPA Annual Conference, Sept. 26–28, where they will meet with NRPA leadership and attend various conference sessions and meetings with an assigned mentor.
